A little in depth about this place. I started to like this place with much fevor since I have written a short brief about this place in my brunch post. Perch LA was one of my favorite places to grab breakfast/brunch dishes but thankfully I can add BLD to my list as they’re pet friendly because they provide outdoor seating although half of them are usually in the sun so we always opt for the ones on the left side of the restaurant. They’re located a little farther off of Los Angeles in Fairfax, a very trendy and fashionable area with many runners and fit people. Their also right next to a park which is nice to have if you want to take a walk after your meal.
We’ve been here 2-3 times and has always enjoyed ourselves and our meals. They tend to get busy so I highly recommend setting a reservation for the weekends. Their parking is also just street parking so it might be a little hard to find. They have street metered ones right next to the restaurant but if you go a little farther down where the houses start, it’s free. I didn’t see any handicap parking that I know of so if you have walking issues I’d get dropped off first before the driver goes to find parking.
This lovely restaurant has open windows in their inside seating, although I highly suggest indoors when the temperatures are high. I ordered the Wild Mushroom Scramble ($17.00) dish with side serving of roasted onion fingerling potatoes. The entire dish was divine, especially the grilled onions, it gave the potatoes an amazing set of flavors. It was sweet and savory complemented with the egg scramble of roasted shallots and pea tendrils. Definitely something to try! Their Spanish Scramble ($17.00) is also very delicious as well, with perfectly cooked eggs tossed in with chorizo, fingerling potatoes, paprika, roasted piquillo peppers. The boyfriend has also enjoyed their House Cured Salmon Eggs Benedict($19.00) with perfectly poached eggs that drizzled their way down to the lox and muffin.
The staff was very friendly and always came out when we sat outside to check up on us. BLD is definitely on the expensive side though seeing each dish is about $20.00 so for two people with a drink (we ordered orange juice once, I’d opt out of that seeing it was $4.00 a cup) would be about $55.00 after tax and tip. But I found the quality of the food, staff, and atmosphere worth it every few times to come out here for brunch.
