Happy birthday to myself! I’m off to island hiking today as a present to myself! Hope I’ll get some awesome pictures and experiences out of it. 🙂 I know it’s been awhile since I posted, but life is just tiring and when I get home after work, I really just want to melt into my couch and just Netflix until I KO. LOL. But I have more adventures planned and hope I get the energy to write about them as I want to share all these amazing memories for others to try out as well! So onward to the places I visited in PDX!
This was the very first breakfast place that we tried out the morning after we landed. Most of the restaurants that we tried were excellent brunch places. It was like you would have to try hard to find a bad breakfast place in Portland. LOL. In LA, it’s usually a hit or miss. As for when we were in Page… Almost nonexistent.
We came here for our first breakfast spot in Portland! Started to figure that most of Portland don’t have their own free private parking lots like suburbia LA. Lol. There’s street parking that you pay by the hour. We luckily got on near the store so the walk wasn’t bad. Since we came for new year’s weekend, it was definitely a tad bit chilly weather wise (20-30 degrees), dress warm!
We got there at 10:00AM and it was still relatively empty. Although by the time we left at 10:45 it started getting busy (by 11-12PM when we walked by again there was a 20 minute wait). We were given menus and chose our own spot when we walked in.
I ordered a pot of English Breakfast tea ($4) with Vegetable Scramble (sans toast; $10) that came with fruit cup and hash browns. Boyfriend ordered the Daily Benny ($13). I loved the scramble, the vegetables were delicious, tasted fresh and well cooked (you’d be surprised how many restaurants under cook their veggies and serve it half raw). The flavors were light and refreshing. Enjoyed that part of the dish the most. The fruits and hash brown was nothing special (although appreciated that it wasn’t the generic cantaloupe and honeydew, instead it was orange slice, strawberry, blackberry and blueberries). The hash brown was definitely bland.
Service was prompt and attentive! We had a great start with an amazing breakfast in Portland!
