Korean Beef

This particular recipe isn’t the fastest (although easy), but if you have the time and prep ahead, it’s a delicious dish to try out. 🙂 It also calls for a Crock-Pot or anything that slow-cooks. If you don’t have one, Target has small ones that are pretty affordable, $29.99 if I remember correctly (if you’re only cooking for yourself or you and your S.O.) Original recipe can be found at: The Recipe Critic, I’ve tweaked it to my personal tastes.

Ingredients Needed:
3 lb Flank Steak
1 Onion, minced
6-7 Cloves of Garlic
2 Stalks of Green Onion, minced
1/2 Cup of Beef Broth
1/2 Cup of Soy Sauce
3 Tbsp Sesame Oil
3/4 Cup of Brown Sugar
Sesame

Serves: 4

David did most of the prepping for this dish. He started with slicing the flank steak into strips then added all the dry and wet ingredients into the slow-cooker, stirred all the ingredients together to make a sauce of sorts. Add flank steak and stir again until coated in the sauce. Original recipe says to cook on high for 2-3 hours then low for another 4-5 hours. But we decided to let it cook on low overnight for 7-8 hours. It worked out the same. 🙂 It came out really tender and delicious when we taste tested it. We then refrigerated it for dinner and lunch the next day. Keep the extra sauce for extra taste as sometimes refrigerating the dish can dry out the sauce (as what happened to ours). With the garnish of sesame and green onion, it gave it that great extra flavor and aroma! Definitely a dish worth trying out for your family, adjust numbers accordingly for bigger number of people.
