My boyfriend was craving some potato wedges and thought it would be fun to make them ourselves which I also agreed since we’ve never made a dish like that before. It seemed fairly simple as it would only need spices and potatoes and the style of cooking would only be sticking them into the oven. So we I went the market and got the necessary ingredients that we would need for the wedges.
Ingredients Needed:
Olive Oil
Paprika
Black Pepper
Granulated Garlic
Onion Powder
6 Russet Potatoes (Or however much you want)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Boyfriend prepared a bowl of iced water that was used for soaking the potatoes before we prepped them for the oven. He then washed the potatoes and began to cut them into wedges and dunking them into the water. We let them sit and soak for about 10-15 minutes before draining them. Using the same bowl we drizzled on a layer of olive oil, 4 to 5 shakes of paprika, onion powder and granulated garlic as well as crushing (4-5 turns on the grinder) in some fresh black pepper.
We used out hands and mixed in the spices with the potatoes and let them sit for another minute or two before popping them into the oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Check with a toothpick to see if they’re soft, once they are they’re ready to be served. Remember that they’re very hot right out of the oven so please be careful, we don’t want to burn any tongues!
These wedges were very delicious, they weren’t overly savory or salty. They weren’t greasy and oily from being deep fried rather had a very nice crisp from being baked. The center was fluffy and so delectable to our taste buds we were thrilled that it turned out so well. We paired it wil a spring mix salad tossed with balsamic vinaigrette and olive oil to finish off the final dish for dinner. We hope you guys enjoy this recipe as much as we did! 🙂
